Jessie J Undergoes Surgery Due to Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Pop icon Jessie J has announced that she recently had surgery for breast cancer and is now recuperating at her residence while waiting for additional results.

In a candid social media post, the 37-year-old singer expressed heartfelt gratitude to her doctor, surgeon, and the nurses who cared for her. She accompanied the message with a series of personal photos and videos taken during her time in hospital.

Describing the post as a reflection of “the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours,” Jessie reaffirmed her commitment to sharing “both the good and hard parts of any journey” she experiences.

The Essex-born artist had first shared news of her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis in early June, receiving an outpouring of support from fellow musicians and fans alike. She mentioned at the time that she would undergo surgery following her appearance at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on June 15.

In her latest update, she posted images of her partner, Chanan Safir Colman, and their son visiting her in the hospital, along with a video of herself singing from her hospital bed prior to surgery. Another light-hearted clip showed her holding a post-operative drainage bottle, which she joked resembled a “goji berry smoothie.”

In her communication, Jessie consistently expressed her appreciation toward the healthcare team and provided support to those dealing with difficulties.

“Sending warm embraces to everyone facing challenges at this time. We’ve got this!”

Messages of support quickly poured in. TV presenter Gaby Roslin commented, “Sending you strength, energy and so much love, you beautiful soul.” Singer Marvin Humes added, “I know Sky will be keeping you smiling and giving you strength… You’re an absolute warrior.”

Upon revealing her diagnosis, Jessie shared that she opted for a public disclosure to aid in managing the situation and to show support for others facing comparable challenges.
